However, she never knew it. His father died when Reu was still young. At the age of twelve, it fell upon his shoulders to be the man of the house. He took this very seriously, pushing himself to be as much of a man as he could be, even at his age. His mother insisted he didn't have to try so hard, but he still did. As time went on, Reu found himself suppressing some traits of his that he had labeled 'unmanly.' Most of it was little things, such as keeping his hair short when he'd rather wear it long. But as it turned out, he happened to be perhaps the biggest 'unmanly' thing ever; gay. He has since come to accept this, but still chooses to hide it from others. As best he can, anyways... when he's sober. A drunken Reu is almost openly gay, flirting with the boys and staring at their butts in typical pervert fashion. He also carries a lighter with him at all times, although he does not smoke. Rather, fire fascinates him, and he'll often flick the lighter on and just stare at the flame for a while, almost mesmerized. |
